I work as an office manager for the Center for Professional Development at the School of Law. Seattle University has been my home away from home since 2005. This year marks my 15-year work anniversary.
All three of my children received their degrees at Seattle U and have done well in their respective careers. They are the catalysts that propelled my return to college. This is why I’m here at my age as an Art History major after a 40-year break.
Before joining the Seattle University fold, I stayed home and raised my three children first in Tokyo, Japan, then in Kent, Washington. In the midst of raising the children, I helped my husband run an art gallery in Tokyo, then a second and a third art gallery in Seattle. Throughout the 1980s, I worked with Japan Airlines in Guam and in Los Angeles, California which led to the opportunity of world travel. In addition, I lived in the Philippines, Guam, and Japan before settling down in Kent, Washington.
Outside the office and school, I enjoy traveling and seeking creative endeavors such as salsa and belly dancing, artisan breadmaking, learning to cook ethnic dishes, and making crafts.
An interesting fact about me: I am the mother and grandmother of identical twin boys. According to a genome scientist friend, I belong to a small number of mothers of identical twin sons whose sons happen to be identical twin boys, too. We number 143 in the country!
